About the Event The MOAA Santee-Wateree Chapter held its Scholarship Awards Dinner Meeting at the Carolina Skies Club on July 29, 2011. Fiesta salad, grilled rib eye, crusted red snapper, baked potatoes, squash with baby carrots and mixed berry ice cream reflected the Caribbean ambience. After dinner, two MOAA Education Scholarships for academic excellence were awarded to Shinikwa Mellerson and Karon Hilton from Manning High School. A presentation was given by Randolph Bynum, Superintendent of the new Sumter School District, about promoting excellence in the public education system. Thirty-nine members and guests attended the dinner. The event highlighted the chapter's support of deserving college-bound students. |
